This is an old hand knotted rug from the Caucasus mountains. It is tribal, with wool on wool foundation. It has all natural dyes with diamond medallions in its field. The rug has a terra cotta patina and is quite earthy, woven circa 1880. It is low pile and love worn. Please see pics.
