Woven by the Kurds, this awesome antique 1920s Persian Kurdish runner is playfully quaint and has a whimsical spirit. The allover small scale design of boteh, also known as paisley, is fun and polychromatic with lots of character due to the abrash seen throughout. The dainty floral border in pinks and blues beautifully frames the rug giving it a polished feel.
Over the long months it took women to weave this handwoven gem, the width varies slightly giving it character. Woven with vegetable dyed wool that is luxurious, this runner has a low pile, but has a weighted quality to it that will be felt. The handle is soft and flexible due to the wool. There is some wear and a tiny area with some itty bitty wool loss, but overall, in good shape. This beauty offers a charming quality that will enhance any space it resides in.
