This runner is a bit of a wild child and a special one in the shop! On a deep, midnight blue ground, this antique Persian runner has very decorative tribal motifs all over and the famous and favorable harshang crab design that rug enthusiasts love. You'll also notice fish and peacocks in the design, all symbolic elements to the weavers. This runner was woven circa 1900 and we suspect it to be from the Lur Tribe and the Bakhtiari people.
The vegetable dyes and their hand spun wool is remarkable and this one of a kind piece is highly stylized, super clean and in good shape for its age. The remarkable motifs truly make this runner stand out and the color story including the gorgeous and eye catching Bleu De France is riveting in the 4 corner spandrels.
Low pile, even wear, fully bound and secure sides.
