From circa 1900, this Bakhtiari is exceptional in hand woven art and color ways. This Persian runner is low pile and in amazing condition for its age. The runner simply stands out from the crowd with artistic merit and a striking design. It was woven by nomadic tribe members of Bakhtiari, which is in west Persia. You can vividly see the natural dyes and the different shades too, indicating changes of hands at the loom.
The Bakhtiari tribe have rugs that travel and are collected around the world since the early 19th Century because of their amazing weave and decorative appeal.
