Made of vegetable dyed wool and non-dyed camel hair, this ornate and long 20 foot P E R S I A N runner is a charmer.
It was woven in the early 1880s in NW P E R S I A, undoubtedly from the weavers' own camel and sheep. This has dominant earthy and terra cotta color ways with motifs that look like diamond lattice art in the field. In the beautiful and solid camel border, you will notice the boteh design aka paisleys, which represent the seeds of life (fertility).
It was woven with high quality wool and non-dyed camel hair. It has beautiful time worn wear (see pics), it's amazing and low pile, durable, and has at least another century of time for enjoyment. Please note, this runner is not perfectly straight because it is handwoven and it won't be exact at the 3'8 width across the whole stretch as there is slight variation while women were weaving at the loom.
