Woven in the region of Caucasus mountains, this 140+ year old vegetable dyed wool Kazak embodies the geometric and bold design and color that are traditional features of these rugs. Perhaps that is why they are some of the most widely collected and prized of the Caucasian rugs. Some of the earliest Kazaks woven date back as far as 1700 BC.
This Kazak is in great shape considering age, history and use. This wool rug sits on a soft wool foundation. All the colors you see are from all natural dyes that was hand knotted to make this tribal gem.
