This is an old village rug, hand knotted by tribal weavers of Shiraz, which happens to be home to the famous Qashqai tribe.
This late 19th Century rug lovely diamond medallions in its field and sensational flat weave edges we truly admire. This tribal rug is hand knotted with old world wool and on a wool foundation. It the rug you will see elements woven in from the weaver, such as pinwheels of life. There is much meaning and value in these works of art that have locked in culture and history that we cherish and pass down.
This shiraz is all organic, it's wool was naturally dyed with vegetables, roots and plants sources. This is definitely a hard wearing rug that is durable and displays immense character, showing off its beautiful age of over 100 years. It would look great on a hard wood floor as well as on stone. The strength in its earthy and natural color ways is soothing and bold at the same time. It has old world wool you can truly feel, and it has a great size for styling. It will bring immediate charm and history to a space in the home or office and is very fairly priced for a great piece of history.
