Woven by mountain weavers in early 1900s, this is an outstanding and durable Kurdish runner with boteh (paisleys) and diamond medallions running down the inner field. The borders feature floral and continuous design throughout.
She who weaved this rug represents the primitive people of the tribe who washed and separated the best wool of her own family's sheep to weave what is now a most cherished artifact and beautiful folk art. This Kurdistan runner is simply a beautiful and decorative piece to add true charm to a home with the durability of old world wool to last for generations to come.
A couple areas have been repaired to keep the integrity and strength of this old rug. Please see pics for full character and condition.
