This 1920s Persian village rug is something we go bananas for! The lovely floral design, rose pink color ground and the history is locked in with beautiful scattered wear is killer on this Malayer. It it low pile, a hand knotted beauty, oozing with all the natural dyes that captures our heart.
Malayer is a large village located between the major weaving areas of Hamadan and Sarouk in Persia. Malayer and the surrounding villages produced some of the most ornate village weavings. At the finer levels, each Malayer Oriental carpet is distinct, the weavers having drawn on a large pool of designs, investing much originality in their creation.
