This early 1900s antique Persian rug is something we go bananas for. With a blush ground color, history locked and beautiful hand knotted love, this Malayer is a highly decorative work of art that aims to please. The natural dyes and color ways captures us, with its calm and the floral art gives us something so lovely to get lost in.
This Persian has a low wool pile and in great condition for its age with gorgeous variation of the vegetables dyes throughout the rug. Rug pics have been taken outside at different times to show variation of color.
Malayer is a large village located between the major weaving areas of Hamadan and Sarouk in Persia. Malayer and the surrounding villages produced some of the most ornate village weavings. At the finer levels, each Malayer Oriental carpet is distinct, the weavers having drawn on a large pool of designs, investing much originality in their creation.
