This antique 1920s Persian Senneh rug has an eye catching all over paisley design. One of the great things about the paisley motif is how remarkably versatile this pattern is, managing to be both bold and playful. The ivory ground is the perfect backdrop to the intricately designed paisley pattern.
These Senneh rugs are generally more delicate rugs than other Persians because of the single-wefted technique (one weft cord between knots) that was used during the weaving process, which makes Senneh rugs very distinct and in a class of their own with their very fine weave. This beautiful rug feels thinner than other Persians, but it is still durable and a great piece of floor art.
This beauty was handwoven with wool that was dyed with organic materials, such as vegetables, plants, and flowers. It has some minor repairs; however, this awesome rug is still fully intact. Please see pictures for more details.
