Woven by weavers circa 1870, this heirloom Turkish runner has seen a lot of time and history. It features a rarely seen green dye running down its field, a color we seldom get to see in these lost treasures. The dyes of course are all natural, derived from vegetables, plants, and flowers. The borders are camel wool that is non dyed and frame the runner beautifully.
This runner is low pile and quite worn and was reduced to a custom size that is now less wide than what it was originally. It is secure and with amazing character earned only through time and story.
She who weaved this rug represents the primitive people of the tribe who washed and separated the best wool of her own family's sheep to weave what is now a most cherished artifact and beautiful folk art.
Hand knotted with all natural dyes (vegetable dyed wool).
