Woven originally for royalty, this fine P E R S I A N rug comes from the region of the country where rugs are considered valuable, elite and collectible. This is a F E R A H A N - S A R O U K and it is a tightly woven rug, which shows off extreme art and detail through each knot. These rugs are excellent examples of the finest of P E R S I A N rugs, with very skillful weavers that took to the loom.
The four ivory corner spandrels frame this rug beautifully and the charcoal cross speared central medallion in charcoal is intricate with the top and bottom motifs embracing it. Flowering vines are flanked across the field and the rug features shocks of teal that are mesmerizing. You'll also vividly see the amazing abrash, which are all the natural variations of the dyes, showing off the different lots of wool used to produce this little treasure.
