4'3 x 7' love worn antique Kurdish Rug

Regular price $0.01

This is a nicely time-worn Persian Kurdish rug from the the 1880s. It is a tribal rug that was hand knotted by Kurdish weavers, a very small minority in areas that are along Persia's Western border.

Kurdish rugs are are known to be stout and solid! You can definitely feel the lamb's wool on this rug which was woven with all naturally dyed wool. It also sits on a wool foundation. Through and through, this old baby is raw and real. The age and wear shows its great age with loads of cool character. You can also see the amazing variation of all the organic dyes in this rug. This rug has other handmade hints as well; one side of the rug is slightly wider than the other.

With all that this rug has gone through, it stands up against time and has many more moons to go. This Kurdish is low pile, worn and has one small hole that will be secured from the back before it ships. Please see pic.

Thank you to the weavers who left behind such durable heirlooms. Please consider getting a rug pad for this baby, so it can stay nice n snug. You'll also be protecting the rug itself.
