Feast your eyes on this gorgeous antique Persian Mohajeran Sarouk rug! The ornate botanical motif throughout the navy blue field is classical and charming. It has splashes of ivory, soft pink, rust, cornflower blue, sea foam green and light yellow. The deep navy blue ground is highly sought after and also harder to come by as Sarouk is typically with a madder red root ground. This rug is extremely durable and provides a feeling of luxury and sophistication.
The abrash of the floral patterned borders starts off on one end with a lighter rust and ends up as a fabulous burnt orange, which provides a unique one-of-kind detail that are the hallmark touches of old rugs with naturally dyed wool.
The Mohajeran Sarouk distinction is a cut above the regular Sarouk rugs. This beauty was handwoven with lanolin rich wool which was dyed with natural materials, such as vegetables, roots, plants, and other resources. The wool has a medium pile and is densely packed within each knot, which gives it that lavish feeling.
This magnificent rug is in impeccable condition and exemplifies the craftmanship and artistry of the women who created it. Place it in any space needing a sense of elegance and decorum.
