4'6" x 10' Antique Persian Camel Hair rug #1925C / 5x10 Vintage Rug

Regular price $0.01

Made of vegetable dyed wool and non-dyed, raw camel hair, this ornate rug is quite rare. It is known as a Persian Bibikabad and its design is just bespoke.

It was woven in the early 1900s in the village of Serab and undoubtedly from the weaver’s own camel and sheep. You’ll love its earthy nature and calm tones, and of course the captivating natural shades of blue that you see throughout the borders. All the dyes are natural with amazing abrash (variation of dyes) throughout, from the female weavers using different batches of cooked wool to create this lovely piece, featuring paisleys on the outermost camel border. Paisleys are symbolic for “seeds of life” and “fertility”.

Its color ways include natural camel, azure, aqua blue, blush, coral and midnight blue. It begins with an all over soft-diamond lattice filled with florets and abstract motifs.

This rug has an intricate design in the field, with high quality wool and non-dyed camel hair. It has beautiful time worn wear (see pics), it's amazing and low pile, durable, and has at least another century of time for enjoyment.
