Hailing from the foothills of the Zagros mountains, this gorgeous antique Persian rug was woven in the village of Malayer on a midnight blue ground. With a highly ornate design, a poled central medallion and dainty spandrels complement the allover floral pattern of the main field giving it a lively feeling. Beautiful and bright hues pop against the dark ground, making this awesome rug really stand out. The border bands continue the floral theme with an amazing and alluring color story.
This Persian is very luxurious and the wool is beautifully soft; It's quite heavy and you will feel the superior quality. In great condition, this area rug with its busy design can hide kid and pet stains very easily and would be great in a high traffic area like a hallway or entry space. Handwoven with vegetable dyed wool circa 1920.
