Regular price $0.01

The nomadic Afshar tribe, now residing in the southeast part of Persia, are known for their very distinctive rug designs. As a nomadic tribe settling into village life, they merged their rug weaving techniques with those used in the village, creating unique rugs that are still loved today. Their rugs have become highly valued due to their scarcity.

This beautiful antique Persian Afshar rug from circa 1920 has a wonderful all over pattern consisting of ornately designed medallions that alternate between a royal blue and a navy blue color scheme that also includes buttery yellow and chocolate brown. The gorgeous crimson ground is the perfect backdrop to these lovely medallions, making it easy to style. The decorative borders provide a wonderful finish to the overall design of the rug.

This beauty was handwoven with wool dyed with organic materials, such as vegetables, plants, and flowers. It has aged nicely and is in good condition. As a sturdy rug, it can withstand being placed in a high traffic area. This fantastic rug will bring a soulful presence to any space it lives in.

4'7 x 6'2, low pile and handwoven with vegetable dyed wool.
