This super love worn Persian was woven in the southeast, by the Afshar nomads, circa 1880. It is a muted piece with subdued natural dyes and a unique aesthetic, loaded with a ton of character and earthy color ways.
It Persian features triple diamond shaped medallions in the field, surrounded by tribal elements/symbols throughout as well as many animal motifs.
The weaving and artistic creativity of this piece and other Afshar rugs were a major part of the daily lives of these village people. Their rugs are quite distinguishable, were always woven small and are considered collectibles by many rug enthusiasts.
Handwoven with all natural, vegetable dyed wool. Worn. Not for a high traffic area. Please see pics for full character and condition. This will ship with a custom cut rug pad on the house to keep it nice and put.
