It's fun size....Heriz Jr.!
Almost all Persian rugs from Heriz we seem to catch are 8x10 or larger. This is a great find and a sweet little treasure. So for those of you who love a Heriz, here's one in nice condition and with busy and highly stylized work going on!
This rug was hand knotted in Northwest Persia circa 1920, with coarse knotting and it features a triple medallion design it the field. It is low pile with a sophisticated geometric design. The wool is in great condition and its strong and durable structure will guarantee the many times this tribal beauty will be passed down from generation to generation.
Remember, this is an original Heriz, not a reproduction. It does not get better than original Oriental (that means handwoven) rugs such as this. This Persian is low pile and please note, by it's handwoven nature, this rug is not perfectly straight. You can see more of its definition in the pics. This is all natural and the "imperfection" is totally norm for an old rug and another reason these soulful beings are truly one-of-a-kind.
