Persian Tabriz are distinguished by their excellent and tight weave very skillfully woven and they are superb examples of classical art in the rugs we keep and cherish. This piece is very worn with some wear and tear and still offers up a whole lot of play and time with its shabby chic look, all earned through time. We'll secure some of these corner edges before it ships, with a patch from the underside to keep its integrity and life.
It is from the 1920s, with all natural, vegetable dyed wool. The art on the field is a Water Garden Design, formally known as Herati design. Rugs from Tabriz respectfully preserve the highest technical standards of the woven rugs of Persia and this little guy is ready to add a whole lot of art and history to the next chapter of its life in a new home.
