Woven in the Western part of Persia, this antique Hamadan rug is from one of the oldest cities of the country.
It was hand knotted circa 1920 with old world, vegetable dyed wool. The color combo is pretty sweet and the dyes are flat. This rug has a Herati design within the field also knows as a water garden design. You’ll see repeating fish around flower heads.
The lamb’s wool is very durable and with weight you can truly feel. This rug has natural variation of dyes and shades (abrash) throughout and a gradual fade. Low pile and in good condition.
