This is an old village rug, hand knotted by nomadic weavers of Shiraz, which happens to be home to the famous Qashqai tribe.
This late 19th Century rug has tribal art all over including geometric motifs, animal elements, pinwheels of life, paisleys and more.
This is a low pile, wool rug woven on wool foundation rug, naturally dyed with vegetables, roots and plants sources. This is definitely a hard wearing rug that is durable and displays immense character, showing off its beautiful age of over 100 years. It would look great on a hard wood floor as well as on stone. The strength in its earthy and natural color ways is soothing and bold at the same time.
This Persian from the south of the country has a soft-to-the-touch wool pile, and it has a great size for styling. It will bring immediate charm and history to a space in the home or office and is very fairly priced for a great piece of history.
We recommend a rug pad for this wool rug as it sits on a wool foundation and will be secured and protected best with a low profile pad we can custom cut on order. For more on that, click here:
