An incredibly fine Persian rug, possibly one of the finest you'll ever see. It took a long time and a lot of love and soul to weave this piece and the woman who took to it was extremely skillful with her hands. It is suspected from what is seen on the weave that this comes from the south of the country, in Kerman.
It's antique from the 1920s with an uplifting spirit on a saffron yellow ground that has shades of turmeric marbled in. It features flaming boteh design throughout the field, is low pile and magnificent with a soft glow. The other colors include sangria, sage, indigo, pink and ivory.
Handwoven with all natural, vegetable dyed wool.
