5'5 x 13' Antique Lori Rug #2650-A / 6x13 Vintage rug

Regular price $5,600.00

Handwoven near the Zagros mountains by the Lur tribespeople, this gorgeous antique Persian Lori rug just breaths 100% nomadic and tribal style with its wool pile, warp and weft. The wool foundation is so raw and real that we suspect its not only sheep’s wool, but also goat’s wool as well because of the texture and color. Its from the late 19th century and is in phenomenal condition for its age. It was likely in a room that preserved it quite well during its use.

At a quick glance, this beautiful rug has a lattice-like pattern in ivory, but at closer inspection it looks like birds in flight, which gives it a sense of movement. The highly geometric art is very cool in warm golden yellow, pewter blue, rust red, ivory, and apricot against a navy blue ground that blends into midnight blue that provides a great backdrop to such a regal color scheme.

Abrash, a change in wool with a different intensity of color, can be seen on the ground color, adding to the uniqueness of this already fantastic rug. The amazing border bands continue with a complementary color story and botanical motifs that adds a wonderful finishing touch.

This beauty is an exceptional size for those folks needing something much less often seen and may have been customed ordered way back in the day because of it. Woven with heavy weighted and luxurious wool dyed from natural resources, such as vegetables, plants, and flowers, giving it such vibrant and rich colors. This superb rug has got a posh aesthetic that will bestow a sophisticated, yet soulful presence, to any space lucky enough to have it reside there.
