A beautiful and graceful antique P E R S I A N Mahal, from the NW of the country is a timeworn piece with a ground field of deep midnight/indigo blue. It features an all over Mahi design, also known as water garden design. Mahal rugs are popular because of their superior craftsmanship, charm and decorative appeal.
This piece has great contrast and saturated color ways featured, along with scattered wear that was earned through time, showing off great character. It is low pile and fully intact and in a size that works for particular spaces that calls for a special size. This rug was most likely produced on a specific order when woven over 100 years ago.
This rug is over a century old, hand knotted between 1880-1900. It's an all natural, vegetable dyed wool.
