6x8 Tribal Worn Persian Rug #3459ML

Regular price $1,900.00

This antique Persian rug, handwoven by the Afshar tribe circa 1900 boasts intricate tribal designs that look like cool, mysterious masks against a deep navy blue background within the main field. Lovely spandrels showcase whimsical paisley motifs on an ivory background complementing the main field superbly.

This gem of a rug boasts numerous border bands, with designs that include ram's horn motifs symbolizing power and masculinity, and botanical patterns reflecting the surrounding nature. One of the border bands, with a hunter green ground, exhibits an abrash effect transitioning into teal, which just adds to the overall visual interest this fantastic rug has to offer. Truly magical, these old rugs that were woven with their sheep’s wool cooked with natural resources (vegetables, roots, and plants).

This low pile and worn beauty features earthy and moody color ways, deepened by the beautifully aged dyes. It has a floppy handle and flat weave ends, displaying a different weaving technique from the hand-knotted field, showcasing the Afshar tribe's detailed craftsmanship. Bring this treasure home and let it infuse your space with character, beauty, and style.
