7’5 x 10’1 antique ivory Persian Mahal (#1258) / 8x10 large vintage rug

From the village of Mahal in Persia, this sensational antique ivory ground wool rug features floral-geometric art throughout the field with eye catching motifs all over. The borders are deep dark blue that comes from indigo. From circa 1920, this work of art is low pile rug with some scattered wear. It’s wool is still soft after a century of life and clean. 

Rug has been professionally cleaned and would be a great addition to a home wanting to add a whole lot of art and history.

This rug has been hand knotted with vegetable dyed wool. From Northwest Persia, Mahal.
