Muted and with great age, the feel and remarkable style earned through time on this piece only makes it more desirable. This Persian comes from the south of the country, in the region of Ravar and it is more formally known as a Kerman Lavar. Always gracing a floral design, these old beauties were woven in the late 19th Century and they are durable, but their wool is naturally lighter in weight than many Persians and this is character we love. It's very finely woven and folds up small. One the top border, you'll notice the Persian scripture as this is signed piece, by the master weaver.
The size it comes in makes it all the more special and it was definitely woven back in the day on order, for a space that needed this custom shape. It would be ideal for a dining room or an area that demands a little leaner and a little longer than the norm.
It is low pile, with scattered wear. A few, small areas with loss of wool has been carefully repaired with foundation work and the rug is fully intact and secured. Please see pics for full character and condition.
