This P E R S I A N village rug from Mahal has some classical elements and rich dyes to love hard! It shows off intricate detail and bold pops of color. You'll notice the sensational and playful floral motifs throughout, surrounding three diamond medallions that draw us in to the field's focal points.
There is wonderful composition here with amazing star bursts, leaves, flower blossoms and palmettes on a rich madder root red ground and a deep midnight blue main border (appears charcoal black to the naked eye). Another feature that makes this rug truly stand out is the multiple bands in the border, especially with the contrasting natural dyes.
Low pile and with scattered wear. Woven circa 1920 with vegetable dyed wool. One small part on the edge border (in the middle), there is slight loss of wool. Please see pics. The rug is fully intact, has a floppy and beautiful handle and will give a great deal of life to the space it will be styled in.
