One of the wonderful things about antique Persian rugs is their timeless quality. Always in style and ready to elevate any space they are placed in; they are the perfect staple in any home décor. This gorgeous antique 1920’s Persian Tabriz rug fits the bill when it comes to a great foundational piece.
With an all-over botanical design with sprays of flowers, this old Persian features sapphire blue, navy blue, sky blue, cream, soft pink, hunter green and espresso brown against an ivory ground and offers up a unique color story with a light ground we don’t see often enough. The botanical design of the main border with the navy blue ground really pops against the center field. This unique coloring is very rare to find in old rugs since most come with a dominant red color scheme.
However, this fantastic rug has not completely escaped the red coloring; one end of this rug shows off the red that comes from madder root, creating a lovely scarlet red color. Just one more thing to make this awesome rug a one-of-a-kind.
This beauty is in good condition, with a low wool pile, and has a stiff handle due to the woven knots being tightly packed. It has a fine weave that required a lot of labor and expertise to weave. It is sturdy and very durable, which would make it great for a high traffic area.
