7'8 x 10'10 Antique Persian Bidjar rug #2461ML / 8x11 Persian rug

Regular price $0.01

Handwoven in the late 19th Century and locking in sweet & breathtaking charm is this wool Antique Persian which has remarkable stylized all over flower art also known as the famous Mina Khani design throughout the field. It is just so beautifully drawn and stands as a grand work of tribal elements and coloration. Note the sensational french blue edge guards, the soft coral border with interlaced floral art framing the amazing navy blue field...this piece sings with love and it is so pretty to look at and adore.
The area from which this rug comes from is Bidjar, and the rugs from this dusty town were predominantly produced heavy, known to be a bit more stiff than other Persians and coined as the "Iron rugs of Persia", for their great durability and densely packed wool that is literally pounded down after each knot is tied on the loom. These rugs withstand heavy use and abuse and are well known for superb artistry, craftsmanship and resilient wool, recognized easily by their heavy wool foundation.

This Persian is low pile and wonderfully aged with vegetable dyed wool. Scattered wear. Please note: due to its natural, handwoven nature...this rug is not perfectly straight. Please see pics for its organic character.
