Many love small scale design on Persians and we understand why! These beauties are easy to style and offer great composition. This large antique 1920s Persian has a fabulous navy/midnight blue ground and also features amazing rust dyes on a lattice like design.
It was woven by women in the village of Mahal in Persia and it is low pile and in excellent condition for its age. If you notice in some of the pictures, you'll see beautiful abrash (variation of its natural dyes and shades of blue). This is from the different batches of vegetable dyed wool they used to weave this large and amazing piece. The borders are exquisite and you'll notice the geometric motifs that are displayed. Those are known as turtles elements.
Low pile, in good condition. The wool is definitely old world, superior and has some lovely sheen to it. This rug has a beautiful, floppy handle to it.
Please consider a rug pad for this old beauty, to keep it protected and wiggle free.
