A beautiful and naturally timeworn Persian antique rug! This is a Mahal rug, with 3 large deep indigo blue medallions in the field on an ivory/sand ground. This low pile rug has gorgeous rust borders, floral-geometric motifs in the field and a sensational character that has been earned in the last 120 years of life.
Rug has been professionally cleaned and was hand knotted with vegetable dyed wool. From Northwest Persia, circa 1900.
