Here’s a wonderful 1920s Turish Oushak with a beautiful and soft patina on an ivory ground. It has a lovely and large central medallion, and is packed with old world wool that was coarsely woven.
Only vegetable dyes were used to give color to this old rug. The village weavers may have taken a few years to produce this work of art, undoubtedly from the wool of their own sheep, using larger knots and leaving us with a room size rug that will be forever cherished.
This rug is worn. Please see pics for condition and character earned through time. A great deal and a wonderful piece of history.
Low pile. Worn. Vegetable dyed wool.
