Here's a very duty, highly stylized and vibrant antique handwoven Persian Heriz rug, from circa 1920.
This fun Heriz has coarse knotting with a sophisticated geometric design. It's happy colors will brighten each day a little bit more with its rich, natural dyes, powerful medallions and edgy motifs throughout.
It has a coral/watermelon ground and captivating blues. The blues have various shades to it, due to the amazing natural dyes...so you'll notice the remarkable and striking abrash, where the corner spandrels shift from ice-y blue to french blue. This is truly exquisite and indicative of the different batches of naturally dyed wool that was used to weave this stunning, tribal rug.
Heriz are one of the most sought after antique rugs and durability of this heavy duty rug will last for generations to come. This low pile rug is in excellent condition for its age with only minimal scattered wear.
