On a superbly subtle pistachio green ground and with French blue edge guards, this pictorial Persian is an accomplished work from Tabriz artisans, woven with the highest quality of wool and from the most respected and skillful weavers of the country. You can only see the hue of the green and it will appear differently to your eyes based on where you stand to view this incredible rug. From afar, it actually looks like a chickpea ground color. The green is ever so slight.
Extreme detail comes with this rug from the 1920s and it has remained in amazing condition with its amazing example of the pictorial genre that it possesses.
In the field and the borders, you'll see animals in the pursuit of prey amongst scattered flowering plants and flowering vines. This hunting scene Tabriz is influenced by P E R S I A N history and mythology and has a very fine weave with exceptionally skilled hands that were on the loom to produce this work of art. On one corner of the rug, you'll see a script woven in, representing a name which we believe stands for the people it was produced for.
Low pile with all natural, vegetable dyed wool. In excellent condition.
