With a great reputation to skillfully weave the finer rugs of the Kerman region, this Lavar Persian has a European composition, a tight weave and it is from the 1880s. It has a kaleidoscope nature with its articulate and grand central medallion. The blossoming floral design is divine throughout with immense curvilinear art and subdued natural dyes that have aged through time.
This specific Lavar has no major differentiation of color in the border that we usually see with a stark contrast in most Persians. It shows off supremely detailed patterns that have continuity with the ultra wide and multi step borders that beautifully frame the rug.
This low pile and finely woven rug has a sand ground with indigo blue, pomegranate, pink, moss green, steel blue, magenta and more. Worn, from the 1880s. All natural vegetable dyed wool, on a floppy cotton foundation.
