Woven originally for Persian royalty and aristocratic clientele, this is an antique Ferahan Sarouk, one of the finest rugs from the region that was tightly woven by highly skilled hands, superior wool and with intricate art.
From circa 1910, this is a worn Persian with curvilinear art and it has a very sturdy foundation. The natural dyes have aged beautifully and it has a grand central medallion in a stunning saffron yellow with double tear drop shaped motifs extending. Exquisite navy blue corner spandrels frame the rug.
This Persian has a lot of scattered wear, but it has a very sturdy handle and it will last to be passed down yet again.
Please see up close pics for full character and condition.
