8'5 x 11'9 Antique Persian Heriz with French Blue (#1506) / 9x12 vintage rug

Likely to be one of the most popular village carpets, this absolutely stunning Heriz rug produced circa 1920, was woven in the mountainous area of NW Persia.

It has has coarse knotting with a sophisticated geometric design and features the well known and loved "diamond on square" medallion. Its vibrant and happy colors will brighten each day and those French blue corners has that marvelous effect we love. 

This rug has remarkable depth and patina, amazing natural dyes and a powerful presence with its geometric art featuring angular oak leaves and foliage. You'll see  abrash (natural variation of dyes due to different lots of vegetable dyed wool) throughout the rug, it is so amazing. Follow the variation of color and you'll be mesmerized.

All the scattered wear you see has earned through time and this tribal Heriz is ready to party for another century of life.
