This stunning antique Persian Gharajeh Heriz rug is quite the statement piece to any space needing floor art with visual interest and drama. Large geometric medallions woven throughout with intricate floret detailing in alternating colors of midnight blue, pastel pink, coral, blush, olive green, sky blue, light saffron yellow, and ivory against a brick red ground is unusual for a fabulous tribal rug such as this one. The compact central border with a midnight blue ground and complimentary design motifs neatly surrounds the powerful center of this wonderful rug.
Woven circa 1920, this amazing rug is in good condition with a low pile and with scattered wear which gives it charm. The wool is very durable and will withstand generations of use. We acquired this beauty from a Connecticut home and was formerly in a New Orleans art collection. At its current listed price, this is a great value for a truly unique Persian rug.
