Oushak is famed for its grand, monumental scale of design and large scale motifs and elements. Antique Turkish Oushak rugs are highly desirable and decorative for elegant room settings. These amazing rugs have been woven in the small region known as Oushak since about the beginning of the Ottoman empire.
This 1920s piece is soft to the touch with amazing wool that has sheen from its original lanolin. It is coarsely woven with superb wool and natural dyes. The distinctive pattern and subdued color palette makes this rug all the more desirable. The village weavers may have taken up two to three years to produce this work of art, undoubtedly from the wool of their own sheep, using larger knots and leaving us with a room size rug that will be forever cherished.
This Oushak features a sand ground and soft pinks with an overall look breaths a European style. The borders featured are nice & wide. In excellent condition and super clean. Pics taken in different, natural outdoor and indirect lighting so you can see the variance of color. Depending on its styled setting, this rug may show up warmer or cooler, based on lighting.
