This room size antique and extremely velvety Mohajeran or Ferahan Persian Sarouk has timeless elegance and features high-grade and luxurious wool that was tightly woven on the loom in the 1920s. This type of Sarouk and its amazing wool and art are seen less often than classical Sarouk and they exceptional craftsmanship, quality and texture.
This beautiful Persian has some sheen to it and the natural dyes have vibrance. It owns a great deal of elegance and decorative appeal. Collectors say this is a royal carpet as it was originally woven for aristocracy.
Hand knotted with vegetable dyed wool in the 1920s on a ruby red ground. Borders are indigo blue. This rug has scattered wear and a minor tear that has been repaired, please see pics. An absolute value buy for rich art!
