On a dusty peach-pink ground, this Persian village rug from the NW is loaded with character. It is an amazing example of the phenomenal works of art that were woven with practices that no longer exist. With old world wool, all naturally dyed, this antique rug from the turn of the century is muted and beautifully worn through time. It has a whimsical, decorative aesthetic with botanical art and its wear is irresistible for those who value true age, style and beauty.
The foundation of this rug is wool as well and so, the handle is soft and floppy. With its all over design of smaller scale floral motifs, this antique Persian will be a cinch to style. This heirloom has recently been bathed and is feeling fresh, with its vegetable dyes woken up. The color changes that you see leaning into a warm and light amber toward one end of the rug is all natural and represents the different batch of naturally dyed wool that was used to weave.
Low pile and worn. Woven with vegetable dyed wool, circa 1900. Not recommended for a high traffic area.
Exact size: 9'2 x 11'
