Bring on the warm n rusty with this regal palette and tribal powered rug. This late 19th Century Persian is a Serapi that speaks age, character and a rockin’ style with spacious and large scale design. It commands attention with everything its got.
From the rugged mountains of NW Persia, it is no wonder why Serapi Heriz rugs have always been so cherished. This desirable carpet has a bold central medallion, openness around the field, lustrous old world wool, and warm natural dyes that has been preserved in a perfectly worn package! The ivory spandrels frame the rug exquisitely and it has midnight blue borders with unusual and not so common art that makes this Persian even more distinct. The motifs are sharp and edgy, displaying spectacular art and delicious natural dyes in coral, brick red, rust, midnight blue, ice blue, aqua blue, ivory, teal, dark tan and more.
The character of this rug and the amazingly crafted rug i is respected for many reasons...they are some of the best rugs from NW Persia that were woven. The natural dyes have softened over time and the rug offers a beautiful visual aesthetic with stylized geometric-floral forms and great artistry.
