In superb condition with soft to the touch wool is this wonderful, floral Kerman that was woven in the south of Persia, circa 1940-1950. The exceptional art here is happy, bountiful in spirit and very articulate as this rug was tightly woven by skilled female artisans. The wool feels as luxurious as it looks and the wool pile is weighted heavy and is soft like butter!
It has a great size for those who need a little leaner than most of these oversize rugs were woven.
The layers of the borders are exquisite with beautiful movement, color story and design and it stands out with its design flowing into the field and not box bordered like many other Persians. They technically call this a "broken border".
The ivory ground is clean and the rug is in great condition for its age. The colors will vary slightly depending on lighting in the room. Extended at a great value for size, art, quality and age.
