Introducing a timeworn antique 1920s Persian Mahal rug from the Northwest region of Persia. Beautifully aged with loads of character, the ivory corner spandrels elegantly frame the main field, which is adorned with an all over small scale Herati pattern against a wonderful red brick ground that will be easy to style. Symbolizing longevity and fertility, the lovely turtle motifs in the main border band adds a touch of whimsy to this exceptional piece of floor art.
Handwoven with vegetable dyed wool, this low pile rug has a floppy handle. Adding to the authenticity of this gorgeous Persian rug, “lazy lines” can be seen within the main field (white diagonal lines) providing a clue to how the women wove this rug.
Though this beauty has been around for generations, it is worn and has a tiny patch (Please see pics for more details) that only add to its uniqueness. This exceptional rug has been extended at a wonderful price, considering its age, size, and beauty.
