This is a lavish, low pile and worn antique Persian Yazd rug from early 20th Century. It has an all over pattern of large floral motifs and medallions and this baby is splendid in color ways.
The city of Yazd is located in central Iran, halfway between the Persian cities of Kashan and Kerman. This ancient city of Yazd has been producing high quality handmade rugs for over four hundred years. Yazd is also noted as one of the earliest carpet weaving sites granted by the royal workshop of the Safavid Dynasty.
This Persian is in worn and torn condition, please see pics. Areas (mainly along the border) have been patched from the underside of the rug and is secure for its next home. We are happy to have this antique hand knotted Tabriz and to extend it at a great deal for this work of art.
