The happiest rug in all the land. A circa 1920 Persian Kerman bursting with flowers that are forever. Floral sprays are showcased across a creamy ivory ground, with raspberry pink, coral, rose, soft pink, denim blue, deep navy, tan, mint, sky blue, marigold, and little touches of lavender, too. There’s so much to discover here: tiny buds tucked between larger blossoms, curling leaves, delicately outlined petals, and slender stems connecting it all.
The movement is beautiful and exact size of 8'9 x 11'9 gives you a lot of exceptional rug to work with. Vines bend and branch out, flowers reach in different directions, and sweeping leaves carry your eye from one little bouquet to the next. The repeating arrangement gives this abundant garden a lovely sense of balance, while the ivory peeking between the flowers keeps the drawing crisp and lively. A rose-pink floral border frames the whole wonderful scene.
Tightly handwoven vegetable dyed wool, with the fine detail visible in every petal and stem. Soft to the touch and full of color, this is the kind of rug that gives you a whole room’s palette, and a reason to smile every time you walk in. This Persian will be fantastic for a living room, a nursery or a library. It is just ever so sweet.
Some light, scattered wear, but in really lovely condition for its age. More than a century later, this garden is still in bloom.
