From a Northwest Persian village called MAHAL, this piece has a ground field of rich ivory with all over floral art woven in. The border are rust and include beautiful shades of colors that were derived from all natural resources. Within the borders, you will find rectilinear motifs that symbolize turtles. In the edge guard, the weavers have included rosettes.

This rug is over a century old, hand knotted circa 1910. It is showing off immense character and beauty with some scattered wear (please see pics as reference).
